Amongst the grass, trees, and Victorian homes are some of the newest buildings in Jamaica Plain, bringing a fresh vibrancy to the neighborhood.

With the Casey Arborway Project completion (ie, they took down the overpass and repaved all of the streets), Forest Hills and Stonybrook are sparkling blocks of brand new developments of housing, retail, and parks.

Clay Harper documented this process with an outstanding blog.

The North Plaza of the Forest Hills Station (northern head house) sits on the bike and pedestrian paths that now connect the Arboretum and Franklin Park.

With all of this outside your door, don’t forget how lovely and peaceful this home is.  The neighborhood streets are still quiet enclaves of neat, Victorian homes.  Come home to birds chirping, leaves rustling in the trees, and flowers blooming.

Neat Victoria houses lined up in a row. What a “neighborhood” feeling.

Inside, sunlight bathes the rooms in light with a backdrop of leafy trees.  There is plenty of room for both cozy spaces and entertaining with a large living room, spacious dining room, and oversized eat-in kitchen.

Arrive home like a serene embrace.
The living room is large enough for two or three “areas”. Plenty of seating, an entry, perhaps also a desk.

The kitchen has a walk-in pantry, countertops lining two walls, and ample space for a kitchen table.

The kitchen is large enough for a table and multiple workstations.
A walk-in pantry feels like an absolute luxury.

The dining room can hold a lovely dining table for several guests, or expand the table into the living room for those holiday gatherings.  There will still be room for a sideboard.

The dining room has just a bit of extra room. You can have a table full of guests, and still fit furniture to help feed them and walk through the space.

For repose, two quiet bedrooms with lovely windows.

To celebrate the day’s end or launch the morning with coffee?  Private perches on both front and rear decks.

Ample closets, basement storage, and basement laundry.  One off-street parking.
