ArtBeat 2022 | Somerville Arts Council

The Somerville Arts Council's annual multicultural arts festival showcases the City's diverse and vibrant arts communities and attracts ten thousand visitors to Davis Square. Presented by the Somerville Arts Council (SAC) and Mayor Katjana Ballantyne, ArtBeat has reached its 36th year and features an eclectic mix of music, dance, theater, food, performance, and interactive activities.

From July 18 - August 18 in front of the Samuel Adams statue in Dock Square, Colombian-born, New England-based artist Juan Obando asks us to reimagine our role in the construction of collective space with Summer Sets. Evoking new construction while confronting public space and history, Summer Sets is a hyper-realistic, idealized rendering of Boston’s Dock Square mounted on scaffolding.
